CHANGING THE WAY YOU RECIEVE ORAL HEALTHCARE.

ABOUT DESTINATION DENTAL

We provide preventative oral healthcare services to seniors from the privacy and comfort of their own environment.

There’s an unfortunate gap within the dental healthcare system—little to no access to convenient dental care for seniors. Individuals that reside in assisted living facilities, retirement communities, nursing homes, and private homes are being neglected over things that are out of their control. Lack of transportation, physical disabilities, and even memory loss are preventing our seniors from receiving routine oral care each and every day.

Destination Dental is bridging the gap. Our team of registered and licensed dental professionals are putting in the miles to ensure seniors receive the oral healthcare they deserve and so desperately need.

DENTAL CHARTING & EXAMINATION

DENTAL CHARTING & EXAMINATION

Our team of professionals always start by making a record of each patient’s current oral health. By charting the number of teeth and other pre-existing concerns, our team can confidently perform the proper treatment tailored to each patient’s condition during every visit.

REMOVAL OF TARTAR AND PLAQUE DEPOSITS

Dental plaque is known as the film that builds up on your teeth over time from saliva, foods and fluids. Filled with bacteria, when plaque deposits aren’t treated regularly, tartar buildup will form and can cause more serious oral health problems. Also known as dental calculus, tartar buildup is referring to the yellow to brown colored deposits that harden over the teeth. By hand scaling and/or using a cavitron, our dental hygienists will remove both plaque and calculus from the teeth, resulting in a fresh, good-looking smile.

DENTAL CLEANING (PROPHYLAXIS)

Serving as a routine cleaning, our hygienists gently clean plaque from the teeth and also remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas. This service can be treated with or without prescription-grade fluoride. Routine cleanings are recommended every three to six months for most patients.

PROFESSIONAL POLISHING AND FLOSSING

Another method for removing plaque, as well as teeth stains is through professional polishing and flossing. Not only does polishing give your tooth enamel a smooth and glossy finish, but this dental procedure also helps to freshen your breath and avoid further tooth decay. Allowing a dental professional to floss over your teeth ensures all the hard-to-reach areas are also accounted for and cleaned properly.

PARTIAL AND FULL DENTURE CLEANINGS

Our hygienists can provide partial and full denture cleanings. By thoroughly cleaning and scaling the teeth, our hygienists also work to remove stubborn stains and calculus buildup. After each appointment, even our patients with denture care feel more comfortable and confident in their smile.

ORAL HYGIENE INSTRUCTION

Our dental hygienists are registered and licensed with the latest oral hygiene instruction to ensure proper care, as well as educate patients and caregivers on the proper techniques they should be practicing in their everyday oral hygiene routine. We will show how to properly maintain the teeth at the end of every cleaning, tailored specifically to each individual.

PRESCRIPTION-GRADE FLUORIDE TREATMENT

After the teeth have been polished, our dental hygienists can apply a protective coat of prescription-grade fluoride. Fluoride treatments work to prevent cavities and also help with tooth sensitivity. Fluoride is one of the best ways to ensure the teeth are protected after each appointment.

ANNUAL DENTIST VISIT

Destination Dental recommends on-site oral hygiene services every three to six months in combination with an annual dentist visit. *The State of Florida requires that a licensed Dentist shall conduct a dental examination on a patient within 13 months after a dental hygienist performs on-site services for any diagnosis for treatment or treatment planning

GOOD ORAL HYGIENE CAN PREVENT MANY LIFE-THREATENING DISEASES.

You and your loved ones deserve a healthy smile. Quality oral care reduces tooth decay, bad breath, pain, and discomfort, especially for those who find it difficult to maintain healthy habits. Routine professional dental care removes harmful bacteria from the mouth and offers early detection of gum disease and risky infections.

WHY SENIOR DENTAL CARE MATTERS

null
Routine senior dental care can help prevent common problems like toothaches, gum disease, tooth loss, and bad breath.
null
As you age, tooth loss doesn’t have to be an outcome you expect. When older adults keep up with their oral hygiene, they can continue to enjoy food and eat comfortably.
null
Good oral hygiene can prevent many life-threatening diseases. Scientific studies show a relationship between gum disease and stroke, heart disease, respiratory diseases, dementia, and diabetes.
null
Almost 70 percent of adults have tartar, and it builds up faster as you age. A main contributor to tooth decay and cavities, tartar can only be removed by a dental professional.
